Bug Description

I just installed from zero Jaunty, and I am not able at all to mount my ntfs partitions through fstab, when label does contain spaces.

What I did: as I always do, as I need ntfs partitions mounted at boot time, I set mount point (e.g. /media/sda1) in Ubiquity for every ntfs partition.
I expected every partition mounted at boot, but it was true only for the partitions not containing spaces in the label.
In fact, the NTFS partition "Documenti e Programmi" correspond to /dev/disk/by-label/Documenti\x20e\x20Programmi/ while in fstab is "Documenti_e_Programmi".
The problem is not present at all with the NTFS "WinOld" partition, perfectly mounted as expected.

I attach output of sudo fdisk -l and sudo mount -a, and also /etc/fstab.

[Using Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope updated as of today]

It does not seem to be a new Jaunty bug: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1070901 it is present also in Ubuntu 8.10

You have some underscores, but I don't see any spaces in the label names.

There are several things that could go wrong. Install and run ntfs-config. That's a very easy way to set up fstab correctly.

Let's see if we can't get this bug report closed. Damiano, you can use
\040
for a space. Example:
My\040Disk
Can you try either that or the ntfs-config tool and report back?
