Bug Description

Hello
Sorry for my bad english.

I have a Msi Wind u100, and i tried to install ubuntu 9.04, to see who good is it, and to find especifiques bugs (potencial for little pc like mine).

For start, i saw all the aplications (include the install) are too big for a 10" screen (so imagine a lower screen like 8.5" or smaller), something that don't exist in olders versions of ubuntu.

Second and must important problem, when i change de resolution. the green message saying (Pc Netbook 10" (Ordinateur Portable 10" in my french version) saying the size of the screen) apears in the left corner of the screen and it's impossible to hide or close it.

For mor Information:
Msi Wind
Intel GMA945 - 64Mb
10" Screen (Resolution Max - 1024x768 (ubuntu 9.04 propose max 1024x600, but ubuntu 8.10 propose 1024x768)
2Gb Ram
Fresh Ubuntu 9.04 (the last with the last updates) with a Usb PenDrive.

Thanks a lot in advance.

EDIT: Aparently the problem resolves when we re-open the Menu dans change for another resolution, then save the change, then rechange for the desired resolution then save, then close.

And that's it...

Ps : the RTL8187SE instalation mode ofr the ubuntu 8.10 works on the ubuntu 9.04

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions:

 * Is this reproducible?
 * If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?
 * The popup should only be displayed when the dialog is open, did you close the configuration tool?

This will help us to find and resolve the problem.

could you take a screenshot showing the desktop issue? could be that your dpi or fonts are not adjusted correctly

Hi,
I've tried to reproduce the bug but apperently it was just an exception, who arrives to me only 2 times and now the problem apears to be resolv (maybe after the update...).

For answer the 3rd question :

At the moment who's the bug appears, i have the configuration tool closed.... and the same think arrives to me when i reboot my pc... after that and after a update the problem as desapear (normaly)

Thanks a lot.

PS : i don't know if i can post here, but is normal if my pc has only 1 pen connected (to a total of 3 usb ports dispo) and ubuntu find 2 USB DEVICES 1-My pen with the god name and the second is representing nothing. Impossible to open becease there is no other usb devices connecter on my pc.

PSS : I'm very sorry for my very very bad english... i'm trying to do my best ^^
