Bug Description
For some restricted drivers, there are open source drivers available. These should appear in jockey when detected as an option instead of the proprietary drivers.
To post a comment you must log in.
Jockey has general support and infrastructure for free drivers. For example, it looks for printer drivers on openprinting.org and installs them when necessary.
We just don't have any free drivers in Ubuntu itself at the moment, since they are all shipped and enabled/configured by default.
If you have a particular idea about a free driver which should be presented in Jockey, please open a new bug about this with the specifics.
Thank you!
