For what it's worth:
I had the same problem till someone suggested I should reinstall python-qt4-dbus. I did, using the same version (4.4.4-2ubuntu5) from another mirror and the bug is gone.

ii python-kde4 4:4.2.1-0ubuntu3 Python bindings for the KDE 4 libraries

But the update manager updated some packages since this bug occured, not sure if python-kde4 is one of those that were updated since then.

It happened to me after todays upgrade, too (Kubuntu 9.04 i386).
It could be because of python version installed:
python 2.6.1-0ubuntu9
python2.6 2.6.2~rc1-0ubuntu1
python-kde4 4:4.2.2-0ubuntu2

The same crash happened to other apps coded in python.

This most likely was caused by an in-development mismatch within the python stack, so I am closing this bug report.
Should you still experience this bug, please feel free to reopen it and provide the output of `apt-cache policy python-qt4-dbus`

Thank you for your time and have a nice day :)
