Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-games

I am using Hardy Heron and download all updates when they become available. The Poker game in AisleRiot Solitaire does not record the high score for games when you can move the cards. Must have 120 points or more; but it won't record wins under stats. I don't know about games when you can't move the cards after placement on the 5x5 grid.

Thanks for the report, the bug isn't clear you seems to describe two issues, may you tell us a few easy steps in order to replicate the first part of this? (score issue) thanks. It would be worth to try the same with jaunty with the newest package there.

Hello,
I'll try to clarify the bug I reported. I have played the poker game many times. If I go to Game, Statistics, it reports Wins 0, Time N/A (because it doesn't think I've won any; even though I've won (scored above 120) many times). It also reports the Total games I've played, Worst time N/A and Percentage 0% (again because it doesn't think I've won any). I always play in Shuffle mode (where you can move the cards around) which means I need to score 120 or above to "win". In my opinion, because it is in "Shuffle Mode" it doesn't know when the game has finished. When I am satisfied with the score, I have tried pressing the new game button on the bar, going into Game, New and even the CTRL-N option to signal the game I have completed the game I am playing and wish to start another. Since that never has recored a win I even tried Game, Close after finishing a game in the 150 range to see if that might by chance record the win. It didn't.

I never play in non-shuffle mode, but that is obvious to the game when it is over. When that last card is placed, the game is finished. If 70 or over, record the details to the statistics. I never play this way so I don't know if it actually will record a win to the statistics.

I have also found a random bug in the game that happens quite often. The score can be over by 10 of what the cards actually add up to be. I used the chart supplied in the help to add the horizontal, vertical and both diagonals and found this happens more often than one would expect. I noticed the bug when I moved one card that should have added 10 points (a full house) but it didn't add anything to the score. I added the score up and it was right. I moved the card back and added the score up again, but this time the score reported was over the cards by 10 points. I don't know how to reproduce this error short of playing a few games while watching the score to see if it adds as expected and manual adding of the 12 hands.

I hope this helps...

Hello again,
I have played a game and was able to get screen captures of two variations of the same score keeping bug. In the first image the game reports the score to be 124 (on the bar in the lower right), but if you add the values of each hand up, the actual score is only 104. Moving the cards around a little in the same game I was able to make the error only 10 points. The second image I took (but can't send because I'm only allowed to send one image) shows a score of 112 but the cards really only add up to 102. Seeing is believing... so I decided to send the image to prove it.

Good luck!

Hello,
I am sorry for reporting two different scoring errors under the same message thread. I should have started another thread for the second bug.

I want to let you know that both bugs happen regardless of the mode you are playing (shuffle and non-shuffle modes). I played several games in non-shuffle mode and was able to "win" (score above 70 points) a few times. However, the first bug still happened in non-shuffle mode... the game did not record a win in the statistics dialog box.

Also, the second bug of the reported score (in the lower right of the bar) not matching the score of the cards happens too. I had one game where the reported score was 85, but the total manually adding the score on the cards was actually only 75. The score of 75 still should have been enough to update the statistics by a win after I pressed new game, but it did not even though the game thought I scored 85.

I said in a previous message in this thread that I never play the game in non-shuffle mode. I like being able to move the cards around. I only played the games in non-shuffle mode to help you by verifying both bugs exist in both modes of play the game offers.

I also have the issue where Aisleriot's Poker does not recognize the end of the game. Unlike RifRaf, I was playing without the 'shuffle' mode. In this version of the game, once the last card is placed, the game is over and score should be tabulated, etc. However, unlike every other game within Aisleriot, the program does not appear to know that the game is over (and therefore does not recognize high scores, etc).

To recreate: Play a game (default values). You'll find that the program never believes it is over (even though there are no further 'moves' to make).

Hello.
Just the same case in the Shuffle mode - 120 points and no reaction (see attachmeht)
But now it's ok with Non-Shuffle mode (when you can't move the cards)
