Cannot extract to initial location in dialogue

Bug Description
Binary package hint: file-roller
1) open archive
2) extract...
3) select okay in file dialogue without changing location
4 expected) = extracted
4 actual) = no response from dialogue
But, if you navigate away from Desktop and back to it, extraction to that location is then performed normally.
