Bug Description

When you fixed this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/149125

You allow us change between mplayer and mplayer-nogui.

But gnome-mplayer still install mplayer by default if nothing was installed before.

Install mplayer means install a complete gtk player and mplayer-skins package.

I'd rather see the gmplayer binary not being shipped with mplayer and mplayer-nogui (which is an Ubuntu package only) disappear (or at the limit being replaced by a gmplayer package). AFAIK gmplayer is rather buggy and not properly maintained anymore (it should really disappear from the source package but thats another issue ...).

Sorry but I do not understand you.

Gnome-MPlayer is a mplayer fronted that not need another fronted as
gmplayer.

Currently Gnome-MPlayer installs first gmplayer (mplayer package) before
only mplayer binary (mplayer-nogui).

Then... why?

The problem lies with the mplayer package, it should'nt ship with an old/buggy/unmaintained gui at all.
