Elisa leads to blank screen in Jaunty A5

When Elisa is opened in Jaunty A5, it leads to a blank screen that won't go away without using the killall command.

What do you see in terminal output when you launch elisa from a terminal?

I don't believe this is user error, but for all I know it could be.

Is python-twisted-web2 installed?

Synaptic and apt-get tell me it is.

Upon further investigation, this may only be true on my own computer. I tried on a virtual machine I have set up at work and it worked more or less the way it is supposed to. moving to questions.
