Bug Description

What I'm doing and expecting:

I'm subscribing to an .ics file that has been provided readonly from Zimbra. I'm expecting Sunbird to import the calendar items any time the calendar is refreshed (which is currently set to the default value of every 30 minutes).

What happens instead:

Sunbird seems to perform an "endless loop" (as a programmer would call it). This happens in a way, that one of my 4 processors is working at 100 % load, while the Sunbird window doesn't respond to any mouse action instead of window movement, the latter without any refresh of the window content. This is reproducable, I tried to delete the profile files in the "$HOME/.mozilla/sunbird/" folder many times and re-subscribe again. One time I waited more than 50 minutes without any further reaction from the application.

The .ics file is 150 KB of size, if downloaded.

Sunbird is running properly without any subscription set.

Application: Sunbird 0.7
Package: 0.7+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 + sunbird-locale-de (0.7-ubuntu1)
OS: Ubuntu Linux 8.04
Window-Manager: KDE 3.5.10

If you have any further questions or ideas what I can try, please let me know.

I downloaded the file mentioned above via Firefox and then imported it into Sunbird from the local disc. This causes the same behaviour as described.

Can you please try 0.8 in hardy backport repos version 0.8+nobinonly-0ubuntu1~hardy1 Nad let me know if you still see it. I am unable to reproduce this in intrepid and jaunty using
intrepid: 0.8+nobinonly-0ubuntu1
Jaunty 0.9+nobinonly-0ubuntu1

I have packaged 0.9 for Hardy and Intrepid in my PPA,[1] these will not be backported at this time, it may be a while before i start on that since we lack testing on 0.9 at this time. The PPA packages are NOT supported if you have a bug see me on irc.freenode.net #ubuntu-mozillateam or the better option would be to post questions/bugs to the mailing list[2]
Are you downloading the file or importing it right into lightning/sunbird?
What is the link to the .ics that you are trying? All of the ones that i have work fine. there are about 8 .ics. If you are downloading the file than adding it to sunbird, please let me know the steps you take.

I am working on fixing my PPA so 0.9 wont hit until at the very soonest tonight or tomorrow. So at this time there is no sunbird packages in my PPA however 0.8 in backports seem to not give me this problem, Please let me know after you test 0.8 from ubuntu backport repo

If this is still an issue in 0.8 can you please file a bug upstream on your problem and post the upstream bug address here so we can track it.
