Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-thunderbird

I installed the certificate of a root CA and a child CA. I declared both of them to be trustworthy for everything.
Now I want to install a certificate for other persons that has been issued by the child ca.
With openssl I checked before the validity of that certificate and the fact, that the two cas mentioned are the only ones I need to verify the certificate is valid.
When I choose to install that certificate I get the message:
This certificate cannot be checked successfully and will not be imported.

The situation can be repeated by starting Thunderbird (Version 2.0.0.19 (20090105)) on Ubuntu 8.04 via

thunderbird -ProfileManager and create a new profile.
After that import the two ca certificates and declare them to be trustworthy for everything.
Finally try to install the usercert.pem

All of the certificates are attached. Extract the attached tar file, cd zertproblem and there run
openssl verify -CApath cacert zert.pem
This shows, the CA certificates are complete.

No. The certificate is not protected by a password.
