Epson Stylus CX4900 multifunction printer not detected

Bug Description

Epson Stylus CX4900 is not detected in Ubuntu 9.05 alpha 5.

Printer is plugged in via usb cable.
Turning the printer on while at the Ubuntu desktop has no effect.
No automatic detection and no ability to print, other than to file.

This printer previously worked fine in, and was automatically detected in Ubuntu 8.10.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you run the command 'apport-collect 338710' in a terminal? This will cause apport to collect a lot of useful debugging information for the is bug report that will then be attached to it. Thanks in advance.
