Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

I've tried playing both avi and mp4 videos and neither will display correctly. my avis continuously flicker and my mp4s will only display a series of colored lines. The problem is not in totem itself as i've tried a couple other players and they give me the same display. I'm running Linux mint and I'm using the restricted drivers for my ati radeon x1300 graphics card. when the driver is removed the videos just won't play altogether so if there's a workaround I haven't tried I would appreciate it if you have one.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: LinuxMint 6
ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/totem-xine
NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx
Package: totem-xine 2.24.3-0ubuntu1
ProcEnviron:
 LANG=en_US.UTF-8
 PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: totem
Uname: Linux 2.6.27-7-generic i686
UnreportableReason: This is not a genuine LinuxMint package

looks like a video issue then, reassigning to the one that you're probably using, thanks.

Pedro, if the NonfreeKernelModules lists fglrx, the package is fglrx-installer, and not xserver-xorg-video-ati (which is the open-source driver).

I've posted a new version of the -fglrx driver to our xorg-edgers PPA,
would you mind testing it either on Jaunty or Karmic and see if it
resolves this bug?

Get fglrx 8.620 here:
