The fix has been committed to the KDE 4.2 branch upstream and will make its way naturally into KDE 4.2.2.

Yes that is true, but with such a huge regression, I thought it would be bad for all users, that sometimes select something with konsole by doubleclicking on it. But as you say all those users will have to wait 1 month to get the fix.

Personally I use this feature about 200 times a day, and when it is not selecting the same thing as in all previous kde releases it's kinda frustrating.

I would like to request that this bugfix makes it into Jaunty. I also use this many times through the day and finds it really slows my productivity.

A temp fix, which isn't 100%, is to remove everything in the word characters for double-click selection setting, then it will work more or less as before.

Until the patch hits, according to the upstream bug, it looks like this feature was mis-implemented to mean the exact opposite of what it meant in the past. In other words, any characters you put in that box will be used to _break_ words apart, rather than join them.

With that in mind, you can still make it work the way you want. I put in:

"';

To break words on quotes and semicolons.

Antares, can you write more how to fix it by myself?
