Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
If update manager is updating the system, it won't be possible to hibernate it. It can become a realy big issue when the systems runs out of power: if it is prevented from hibernating, it might shutdown unexpectedly and screw up the whole system especially on development versions like this one(jaunty).
In my personnal case, i do not have an internet connection where i live so i have to use a hot spot for updating/upgrading my system, during long updates, i quickly run out of battery. The option i used before jaunty was to hibernate once the packages were downloaded and waking it up later, when i have a real power supply.
I think there is two options:
=>if the system is on battery let it hibernate anyway(but not shutdown!)
=>or you could add a checkbox "only download packages"
Cleaning up. Is this still an issue in the current stable release? wiki.ubuntu. com/BugSquad
