Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

When I change the icon set in gnome-appearance-properties, the background on both my monitors goes white for a second or so before changing back to the correct background.

On my VM running the same software, the background changes to brown and then back to the selected image, so it seems that gnome-appearance-properties is clearing the background image and then resetting it. (However, I have the background colour set to the same brown in the host OS, so I don't know why it flashes white.)

This also happens at times during an apt-get upgrade.

This happens with and without compiz enabled.

It's a relatively recent regression, since it didn't used to do this.
