Bug Description

Distribution Kubuntu Jaunty (9.04 development branch)
Package Ksnapshot ver 4:4.2.0-0ubuntu2 0

After hiting Print Screen several times Ksnapshot keeps taking screenshots forever. Killall doesn't solve the problem neither killing ksnapd (?). The only way i stoped it was by opening a new session via Ctrl+Alt+F1 and removing the package with sudo apt-get remove ksnapshot (it also removes kubuntu-desktop). Then i used killall ksnapshot and reinstalled kubuntu-desktop and ksnapshot.

I can confirm this bug, same issue.

Same issue, however, instead of having to remove ksnapshot restarting the computer stops it.

Same issue, Jaunty 64 bit. A restart works fine, but you will probably want to add KSnapshot to your session manager exceptions. On my system, four screenshots seems to be the magic number that starts the infinite loop. I haven't re-tested this, though, because it's crazy annoying.

I confirm it, very annoying, for me it happens quite often(I have delete key near print screen). It's decreases whole system stability because there is no way to save all work opened in KDE after it happens. After swiching to console, killall -9 ksnapshot && killall kdeinit4 and switching back , more new instances of ksnapshots shows up, and X goes unresponsive.

My PrtScr key is up to the Backspace key, so I press it also, when pressing the Backspace. Then sometimes the KSnapshot goes to an endless loop, I can only close it with force shutdown (pressing the power button).

Today I got these error again, but in another form. I don't know what key I pressed, but I got more and more window with an error message, that said, "Can't start /usr/bin/ksnapshot" or something like. Then I shutdowned the laptop with the power key, and after reboot, tried to start KSnapshot with KRunner. Alt+F2, then I typed /usr/bin/ksnapshot, and it started.

This still happens on lucid, just experienced same bug. It was also karmic, experienced it there too. "skill ksnapshot" did stop it for me though.

No problem, i have also forgotten about it. Just tested it using Kubuntu 11.10 and it's ok, there is no bug any more.
