nautilus plugins log status messages into ~/.xsession-errors

Binary package hint: nautilus-share

Nautilus-share logs those two messages [coming from src/nautilus-share.c] to ~/.xsession-errors:

Initializing nautilus-share extension
Shutting down nautilus-share extension

I don't expect to see non-warning or non-error messages in ~/.xsession-errors.

I see this too. But with it I also see a whole set of other plugins doing this, such as nautilus-open-terminal among others.

Problem is that GDM redirects all output to .xsession-errors so this is not a nautilus bug and I have no idea if this will get fixed. Maybe they should rename .xsession-errors to .xsession-debug.

Well I've included a patch that removes the verbose logging in a package
I've submitted to Debian, and is awaiting sponsors. I'm not very sure
whether I should though.

Well then this also affects some other nautilus plugins.

These are all that I know of for now. If there are any more, it would be
good to add them.

I still don't understand how this is the package's fault if GDM or whoever redirects stdout to be printed to ~/.xsession-errors.

I don't think it's stdout. It's stderr isn't it?

No wait I was mistaken. It does seem to be stdout after all. Only
nautilus-seahorse dumps it into stderr.
