freezes on install of irda-utils when irda-device in range

Bug Description

Binary package hint: irda-utils

When installing irda-utils computer freezes. At the time of install a IrDA-device was trying to connect.
Installation was done using synaptic package manager.

HW: Acer TM 4150, trying to connect Nokia mobile phone

System: Ubuntu 8.10
Kernel 2.6.27-12-generic
Gnome 2.24.1

tried to reproduce it now... no freeze under same conditions...

Tried but could not repoduce it.

Same symptoms if I run irattach but have not run "modprobe irda0" before (computer freezes).

closing bug myself.
