Bug Description

Binary package hint: yelp

The download and installation of some of the approx. 600 Files made my printer useless.
Every time I switch the Printer on, a 'Missing Printer Driver' message appears.
After all searchs for the Brother HL-1435, nor the Test page or other files are printed.
Clicking on the crash report Icon results with 'The foomatic.rp closed unexpectedly' message.
Previous problem, (see Bug #: 321164), ha been resolved and the Printer worked fine up to the installation of the 'Updates'.
The Printer is a Brother HL-1435 laser.
The PC is a HP 1160 with an amd64 processor.
Ubuntu Jaunty
Release: 9.04
Linux 2.6.28-8 generic SMP x86

Although the Printer is powered, the new icon on the start bar says: Printer 'Brother-HL-1430may not be connected'.
No change by clicking on 'Printer Configuration-localhost' -> Connect.
The 'Document Print Status (my jobs)' shows one file, at least, in the Print cue.

I Downloaded and and installed the last Updates Distribution, (28 of February).
Although it contained 8 CUPS related update, my Printer still does not work.
I get a lot of messages like 'Job 47 completed', 'Error BrokenCount >0', 'Printer Brother-HL-1430 may not be connected, but no printing.

Gaetano Arena

If it's still a problem please provide the output of the following command on a terminal for some useful printing related debugging info:
apport-collect -p cups 335529

Also provide a complete cups error_log after trying to print something as described here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems#cupserrorlog
