Bug Description

I got this yesterday 2 seconds after I got the same WARNING as in Bug #287453. I was resuming from suspend on Xubuntu 8.10 (fully patched) 64-bit, and it just hung, wouldn't respond to anything (no numlock lights, etc...). I forcefully rebooted and this is the kernel BUG/OOPS I got.

 Uname -a: Linux catty 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 29 19:28:32 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux

lsb_release says I'm running intrepid.

The attachment is the relevant portion of the kern.log, as you can see, things don't work out so hot 2 seconds after the WARNING about the resume.

There's nothing obvious in the logs to indicate the cause of this. When the system was suspended what applications were in use?

If you can reproduce this we can investigate further but if it is a one-off it will have to be assigned to the "we'll never really know" Invalid status.

I cannot reproduce this bug, I think it falls into the we'll never really know category, but I figured reporting it and perhaps having other people find it might be useful.

Thank-you Jacob. I'll mark the bug "Invalid" on the basis of "we'll never really know". If it recurs please re-open this bug and we'll try again.
