Bug Description

Hello, I'm having a problem with gnome-do 0.8, every time i try to launch it they show me (in terminal) a Error messagem about dbus and other about GetOnBattery, then they just stop and i can't do nothing with it, I'm using a fresh gentoo linux install, with dbus 1.2.3 and dbus-sharp 0.6.1a, I've installed the gnome-do 0.6 to see if it will work, and they work just fine, just the 0.8 version don't work!
I've attached a file with the output of gnome-do with the --debug option!

Thanks in advance!

This is because you don't have a session bus running. What distro are you
on? Your dbus is screwed up.

There are two busses, the system bus and the session bus. You don't have the
session bus running.

Hi again,

Sorry if I'm wrong, but i did a ps command and found some dbus processes running:
kiwi@Urbanus ~ $ ps ax | grep bus
 5120 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/bin/dbus-daemon --system
 5453 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/bin/dbus-daemon --fork --print-pid 5 --print-address 7 --session
 5454 ? S 0:00 dbus-launch --autolaunch bb9554b344f54a6374e5ef6049a43a50 --binary-syntax --close-stderr
 5581 pts/0 S+ 0:00 grep --colour=auto bus

isnt that dbus-daemon --system process the bus session you are talking about? Sorry if I'm wrong, this dbus thing are news to me!

Thanks for the help!

Generally speaking... gentoo is always to blame for dbus issues. Try
doing dbus-launch gnome-do

Keep in mind that with this technique you won't be able to use any of the
plugins that talk over the session bus such as banshee, tomboy, or gnome
session.

I see, well, for me it's not a problem, i don't use theses plugins, but i will file a bug report to gentoo devs to fix this dbus problem.

You can close this bug report as it not a gnome-do bug.

Thanks for the help, I really apreciate it!
