Bug Description
Binary package hint: pidgin
I expect it not to connect (or autoconnect without any problems)
Starting it brings up a chat with the following:
(03:52:36) NickServ: (notice) This nickname is registered. Please choose a different nickname, or identify via /msg NickServ identify <password>.
(03:52:36) NickServ: (notice) Invalid password for Boycraft.
I am registered at #ubuntu-ru with a password. I think it tries to connect without a password.
ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10
ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/pidgin
NonfreeKernelMo
Package: pidgin 1:2.5.2-0ubuntu1
ProcEnviron:
PATH=/
LANG=ru_UA.UTF-8
SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: pidgin
Uname: Linux 2.6.27-7-generic i686
I can confirm this still occurring in Pidgin 2.6.6. But in order to fix this, you need to either enter the correct password in for your IRC Account or ask someone from the irc.freenode.net to reset your password.
