Video recording is not working in ubuntu 8.10

Bug Description

Dear Torsten,

Video recording is not working through Cheese application in MS-N011. While recording video cheese application is not responding.

Is there any other application used for video recording?

pls find attached lspci,lshw, uname-a

There is no other supported webcam software right now, sorry. Try to change the sink for the video camera from Xv to X11 via gstreamer-properties in the video tab.

It is also very likely that the webcam driver had not been properly loaded. Can you also provide output of "lsusb -vvv" when the webcam is attached? What is the make and model of the webcam in question?
