I wanted to also mark bug 333110 as a dupe of bug 332960, and I'm then told that bug 332960 is already a duplicate so I can't do that. I then typed 331327 into the duplicate-marking field, and submit that form. Submitting the form then gives me a "you don't have permission to view this page" error, I suppose because it was trying to take me to bug 331327, and the bug is not marked as a duplicate.
In <https:/
What I'd like is:
1- Marking a bug as a duplicate of a bug I'm not privileged to see to work, maybe with a warning or confirmation step. On completion it would have to send you somewhere other than the private bug.
2- If a bug is a dupe of a private bug, to still show the hyperlink, with an appropriate tooltip. After all, if I'm not logged in then the hyperlink to that bug would give me a chance to log in and potentially then see it.
It is a somewhat confusing behaviour but also a somewhat unusual case. So I don't think this bug is very urgent. It would be nice if #2 was fixed at least.

bug 434733 covers the UI confusion about when links are shown etc. The core problem you ran into here was that the bug you wanted to file was a duplicate of a private bug, we have some design work to do around how duplicates and privacy interact, but I think the core symptom here is a correct behaviour, so I'm going to mark this invalid.
