gdmsetup doesn't work from the gdm menu

When trying to start gdmsetup from gdm "options" dialog, gdm crashes and reloads. But when starting gdmsetup via the gnome panel, it works whitout any problem...

Might be related to https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel/2006-March/016068.html , which is now fixed. What version of gtk+ are you using? (apt-cache policy show libgtk2.0-0)

I whink I may be hit by the same bug. I am using x86 though. GTK+ 2.8.16-1ubuntu1. gdmsetup startup fails with the following error:

$ sudo gdmsetup
GTK Accessibility Module initialized
Command failed, no data returned
  Trying failed command again. Try 2 of 5.
Segmentation fault

If you think this may be a seperate issue I am sorry and will gladly open a new bug, providing a backtrace or what else is needed for you to fix this.

Today, after a reboot and quite a few upgrades, I can't reproduce the error any longer.

With bug #14585 fixed that item is not used by default and from the gdmsetup, marking the bug as minor according to that

the issue is deprecated in the gdm rewrite which is in karmic now
