vlc crashed with SIGSEGV in filter_chain_VideoFilter()

while running vlc with playlist open and additional sources added, Shoutcast Radio/TV I went into the video configuration and set first, psychedelic, after noise then set up two effects including the water effect, the end result the program crashed. I had expected it would work but apparently that is not the case.
