Binary package hint: python-wxgtk2.8
I think the title is self-summarizing.
python-wxgtk2.8's postinst script hardcodes python2.6, but doesn't mark this as a Depends, and so the script can fail with the following:
/var/lib/
Latest jaunty as of the last 6 hours.

Apparently the postinst doesn't actually hardcode python2.6, so I'm confused as to why the script bailed out.
I didn't have python2.6 installed, and installing it fixed this...
