You most likely ran into some file conflicts when you upgraded, so a lot of stuff didn't get installed. These should be fixed now, though.

This reinstall of the program was done after I upgraded to Jaunty Kubuntu, which was to make possible the use of KDE. The work-around did cause plenty of these bug-reports to be recently filed.
