Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

MacBook rev3

1. Start up from the live CD, choosing the "Try Ubuntu" option.
2. When logged in, try to move the pointer using the trackpad.

What happens: Nothing. The pointer doesn't move, and the button doesn't work either. (Test for the button: Use Alt+Fn+F1 to open the Applications menu. Clicking the trackpad button should cause the menu to close, but it doesn't.)

An identical bug was fixed during the Intrepid cycle, bug 257975.

Does not occur with:
* Ubuntu 8.10

Occurs with:
* Ubuntu Jaunty alpha 4

Is this bug fixed in the final jaunty release or not? If so it should be marked invalid
