[jaunty] mouse doesn't work on live cd

Bug Description

The cd is the i386 desktop cd from 21/02/09. I can boot up into it fine and everything works apart from the mouse. I see the pointer in the middle of the screen, it changes from the "busy" circle into a pointer, but it won't move whatever I do. This is on a Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop. I had a look at lspci and lshw output in my current Intrepid install, but couldn't find anything related to mice. I will post any logging info needed.

Exactly the same for me on an older machine:
Duron 1200 MHz
1 MB RAM
Din plug mouse

I've tried w/ the latest Jaunty release (so far), i.e. March 1st 2009

If it could help, I join the dmidecode of my machine (not sure it's very useful)

I'm setting this bug report to Won't Fix as Jaunty is no longer a supported release of Ubuntu and there have been no recent reports of this particular issue.

Changed in casper (Ubuntu):
status: Confirmed → Won't Fix
