usb-creator 0.1.12 always fails to complete the imaging of the stick

I have tested with 3 different and properly formatted USB sticks as well as 3 different dailies/alpha isos.

All of them fail at around 70% while installing the liveusb environment to the stick.

Manually downgrading to 0.1.11 or 0.1.10 fixes the problem.

BTW, the error doesn't occur if persistence is disabled.

Either way, crash or no crash, the completion/crash prompt is a horribly rendered box.

I am running Jaunty RC on a live CD in order to create a live USB. I have downloaded a newer Jaunty ISO from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ (the version I am trying to install is 4-19-2009's daily-live build.)

I don't know if the problem is related to the same issue, but when I run the usb-creator from the Jaunty RC cd (version 0.1.11 I believe), the entire system hangs at 36% complete during "creating persistence file". I am forced to hard-restart my computer.

First, my apologies for being so late in reply. Can you please try usb-creator from Karmic now, or when it's released? I suspect you're running into a bug that was fixed in the 9.10 cycle.
