phonon-backend-xine 4.4.3.0 conflicts with kde-icons-oxygen 4.4.1.4

I have 3 different Kubuntu Intrepid computers and none will upgrade the package "phonon-backend-xine" from 4.4.1.4 to 4.4.3.0. In aptitude, the conflict is with kde-icons-oxygen, which I have version 4.4.1.4 of and it seems phonon-backend conflicts with anything "<4.4.1.73" as it replaces this.

But if I attempt to remove kde-icons-oxygen, kdebase-runtime depends on it, and 665 packages depend on kdebase-runtime, including many core components. So it seems something is wrong with the conflicting requirements, any solutions is appreciated.

Same type of problem here (on Kubuntu 8.10 Intrepid with KDE 4.1.4, backports enabled) :
Adept manager shows me an update for phonon-backend-xine (version 4:4.1.4-0ubuntu1~intrepid1 installed, version 4:4.3.0-0ubuntu1~intrepid1 available), but if I try to install it, nearly all of my KDE apps are proposed for removal !!!
No problem with phonon/libphonon4/phonon-backend-gstreamer packages (installed version for all : 4:4.3.0-0ubuntu1~intrepid1).

The upgrade causes kde-icons-oxygen to be removed, which is required by many KDE libraries, resulting in my entire KDE install being rendered non-working.

I have worked around the problem by installing phonon-xine-backend_4.1.4, which allowed me to reinstall all the KDE libraries without further issue. I have not seen any compatibility problems from my fix.

I have the same issue.
Yesterday I made upgrade and great ammount of kde stuff was upgraded except phonon-backend-xine. I tried to upgrade it manually by the command 'sudo aptitude install phonon-backend-xine' and discovered this conflict between the packages. Aptitude couldn't resolve this conflict.
Now both the dragonplayer and the amarok2 are unable to play any media while mplayer works perfectelly.

I forget to mention that I'm using ppa.launchpad.net repository in addition to the standart repository list. Here is my sources.list attached to this note.

Problem solved for me : today, Adept manager proposed several updates that patched my system (Kubuntu 8.10 64 bits with backports enabled) to KDE 4.2.0. Now, the version installed of phonon-backend-xine is 4:4.3.0-0ubuntu1~intrepid1.
