Bug Description

I'm using kubuntu intrepid. Fully updated.
It looks like none of kde3 apps can not BROWSE smb:// shares. Typing smb://somehost in location bar return "Malformed URL" error. This happens for amarok, kaffeine. Probably others.

Note however, that if I drap&drop file from smb share directly to the play list of the amarok or kaffeine - it works fine.

I am unable to replicate this bug in either Intrepid or Jaunty. However both of these are running KDE4. I don't know if it is specific to KDE3 vs. KDE4?

Jonathan, if you open kaffeine and type smb://some_host in location bar of a playlist view - does it open share successfully?
