Bug Description

Binary package hint: guidance-power-manager

When I suspend KDE session closing the display on netbook it goes on suspend twice.
I mean, on resume it goes on suspend again and then on resume it works fine.

When I suspend the session pressing the hardware buttons Fn+F1 it works fine.

I _suppose_ the problem is in double power management monitor:
I have "/usr/bin/python /usr/bin/guidance-power-manager" and the new KDE4.2 default system power management
setting that both whant to suspend the session.

As you have noted, there is a new default power manager in kde4.2 (powerdevil) that we are using. You should either use one or the other, not both. That will most likely yield strange results if you do.

guidance-power-manager has been removed from the kubuntu-desktop meta-package, so normally it will be uninstalled automatically; if you have installed/upgraded it manually, you might have to uninstall it yourself.

Alternatively you can disable suspend on lid-close in guidance-power-manager; that should do it as well.

I will remove guidance-power-manager manually, with powerdevil I don't need it anymore.

The only doubt I have is:
why for example apt-get autoremove did not suggest me to remove guidance-power-manager?
I am sure I did not marked guidance-power-manager as a manually installed package.

Yeah, it should do that as far as i know. I'll put it on my todo for upgrade testing. Thanks a lot for noticing and reporting it.
