The multiload applet flashes ugly when Stellarium opens

Bug Description
When I turned on Stellarium, I realized that the multiload applet at the bottom of my desktop bar started to flash ugly.
My applet's version is 2.24.1
My ubuntu is: Ubuntu 8.10
