Bug Description

Ubuntu 8.10
Firefox 3.0.6
Ubuntu Firefox Modificattions 0.6 (addon)

Saw this after upgrading Ubuntu 8.04->8.10.

The Bookmarks Toolbar, in Firefox, was blank/empty. The contents of the Bookmarks Toolbar Folder didn't appear. By process of elimination, I found that disabling the Ubuntu Firefox Modifications addon fixed the problem.

If you try a new profile and enable ubufox are you able to reproduce this?
Once you disable ubufox did all your bookmarks show up that you were expecting?
Did you restart firefox after upgrade?

Just for information. if using firefox 3.0 the package would be firefox-3.0 in the "Affects" space at top of bug. the use of firefox is for firefox 2
But this is ubufox not firefox
I changed the package task to ubufox

So...almost immediately after I entered this, I realized that this particular problem wasn't occurring in my other profiles. Comparing the profiles revealed that some of the addons in the profile in question were not up to-date.

In particular, updating All-in-One Siderbar 0.7.4->0.7.8 fixed the problem with the Bookmarks Toolbar, its contents reappeared.

However, now all the toolbar icons disappeared. This looks like what is described in Bug #281348. I will designate this bug as it duplicate.
