main menu editor has double entry

ubuntu 8.10 main menu editor, has double entry, in aplications > internet, and somewhere else but i can not remember now, check this out.

The menu entries you are talking about, do they all show in the main menu or in the menu editor (alacarte) only? If they only show in the menu editor can you pick 1 of those duplicate entries, check their properties (Properties button) and post them here?

I have the same problem on my system runing Intrepid. This might be caused by the multiple brasero-*.desktop files in /usr/share/applications.

I suppose the menu entries are also visible in Gnome main menu? This is then a gnome-main-menu issue and not alacarte. Anyone can confirm if this happens in jaunty?

I'm changing the but to be against gnome-main-menu.

I can't confirm this on Jaunty. About brasero it might be the same as bug #277092

Those other menu entries are normal, only brasero has many that should not show, or at least should show with a distinct name. It really seems to be a duplicate of bug #277092.
