Bug Description
Binary package hint: sysv-rc-conf
1. I am using Ubuntu 8.10 x64.
2. I am using sysv-rc-conf version 0.99-6.
3. I expected the full names of GNU/Linux services to appear at a call to "sysv-rc-conf --list".
4. What happens is that the service names that have more than 12 characters, are truncated to 12 characters.
Description:
Current version of sysv-rc-conf has a limitation of 12 characters (defined as a constant in sysv-rc-conf), when invoked as "sysv-rc-conf --list".
I have written a GUI front-end for sysv-rc-conf, named Glass:
http://
and this bug, limits the number of services, Glass/sysv-rc-conf can modify.
Fixing the bug, enhances the command line functionality of sysv-rc-conf (and thus the functionality of Glass), to be able to modify more services, than it is now possible.
