Bug Description

Binary package hint: bluez

obex [my phone]

Error: Connection to the device lost
Please select another viewer and try again.

This above msg I get most of the time when I try to connect to bluetooth of w880i from dell 370 card .
but sometimes I it connects.after connecting to device if kept idle for sometime then service disappers ie though the phone is mounted still i can no longer browse it .sending file and receiving file also fails .

Hi,
I paired my device 1st with my laptop .
laptop =dell latitude 6400
cell phone = sony w880i
in the bluetooth applet I select browse file on device
than select my phone .
than it never open up my cell phone gives the above error
I have installed blueman in my ubuntu 8.10 .
please let me know what details you want

hmmn, I don't think this bug is related to bluez but gvfs rather.
Could you kill all the gvfs daemons with the command pkill gvfs* and right away run the commande "/usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd -r" in a console, and try to console to your phone.

provide the log in the console.

Please give also your version of ubuntu, bluez and gvfs.
Are you sure that your phone support Obex FTP ?

instead of "try to console to your phone." this is "try to connect to your phone."

I'm facing the same issue on intrepid. If it helps, the o/p is below:

$/usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd -r
Added new job source 0x10f4010 (GVfsBackendObexftp)
Queued new job 0x10f7020 (GVfsJobMount)
+ do_mount
  do_mount: 00:1C:A4:80:04:22 mounted
** Message: mount failed, didn't connect
send_reply, failed: 1
