Bug Description

I tested nautilus from Dap per Drake LiveCD 25022006
That is, nautilus is version 2.13.91-0ubuntu1

The first thing one sees when booted to the desktop, is the "Install System Permanently" icon. Hovering this icon immediately results in redraw corruption.

I will attach a screenshot.

Screenshot of drawing problems on the desktop -- icons corrupt as they are hovered, and dragging windows leaves trails from the top of the titlebar

Thanks for your bug. What version of libgtk2.0-0 is installed? What architecture do you use? What videocard?

Changed in nautilus:
assignee: nobody → desktop-bugs
status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info

I use powerpc, and my videocard is an ati radeon card
From X.0.log:

Direct rendering is enabled with the mesa oss drivers

Additional interesting information I just found:

Launching stellarium (A virtual planetarium fullscreen app that uses hardware accelerated 3d graphics) seems to relieve the problem.

Now, launching theme settings and switching themes brings sort of a similar condition back. (Windows leave more trails, but icons draw better (not good), and a ghost copy of the lower panel is drawn straight across the desktop at mid height.)

Screenshot of my system running dapper-live-i386.iso from Feb 24, 2006. This appears to be similar to bug #30115.

Right, closing as duplicated. I've just uploaded a new GTK, the libgtk2.0-0 might fix it, feel free to comment if you try with it
