Bug Description

Flight4:

Synaptic touchpad works OK here on my Acer Aspire 1353LC but there happenend one thing:

While moving around the cursor the mouse cursor jumped on the left side of the screen and was only vertical movable. I couldn't move the mouse around on the whole screen any more.

My xorg.conf touchpad section which was created by the installer:

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier "Synaptics Touchpad"
        Driver "synaptics"
        Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"
        Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
        Option "Protocol" "auto-dev"
        Option "HorizScrollDelta" "0"
EndSection

Are you able to try any other OS, e.g. another Linux distribution or MS Windows to see if this occurs there?

Since my last post on 2006-03-27 this problem has never occured. I make daily updates.

This problem with the mouse didn't happen with any SUSE version - which I used as my main OS - nor with Fedora Core 5 which I use sometimes.

I only work with my touchpad when I'm on the way - at home I normally use an external mouse. If this error occurs again I will post it here.

I don't think that this is a hardware problem cause after killing my X session and Gdm my touchpad worked normal again and I could use the mouse normal.

Have attached my Xorg log files.

Well, since you know the drill, I'm closing this. You can reopen it if you notice it again.

Computers can be so strange, huh? I mean, what would cause it only to work on the left side?! ;)
