Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Apport reported this crash. I don't know anything else about this. (I usually fill my reports with information, but I just don't know anything about this one.)

(Maybe someone could file as a bug against apport, that it does not directly send the bugs to launchpad, but instead sends them to a place which checks bug reports against other bug reports. I can't determine whether my "compiz.real crashed with SIGSEGV" is the same as one of the "Is the bug you're reporting the same as these?" bugs.)

Me too. I've just downloaded some updates, and at reboot I have this warning, even if Compiz seems to work fine, so Ill' try to obtain the backtrace.

Thanks for your bug report. Unfortunately this report does not have a backtrace which makes it very difficult to investigate the problem. Due to the number of crashes that are currently being reported against Compiz we will close this bug assuming it is a duplicate of one of the existing crash bugs at http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/.

For more information on problems with visual effects see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/VisualEffects.

If you are able you can try to obtain a backtrace using http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash. If you think the backtrace is unique please attach the file to the bug report and mark the bug as "New".

Changed it to status "new" as the comment of 2009-06-12 stating that this bug is a duplicate of one of those compiz bugs cannot be true today 2009-11-08 on ubuntu 9.10?
Hope changing that status isn't a problem :)

As this crash report is incomplete there is no way for you to know if you are having the same problem. That is why this bug was closed. You most likely are not having the same issue.
