Bug Description
I have "Both Shift keys together change layout" checked in System > Preferences > Keyboard > Layouts > Other Options > Layout switching, but it seems that every time the monitor goes into power-save mode, this shortcut no longer works (but simply visiting those Preferences again restores everything to normal).
(This may or may not be related to a slightly less annoying problem, which is that while the monitor is in power-save mode, it seems to take a few seconds after the first keystroke for my monitor to wake up and my system to actually register the keystrokes. E.g., hitting Num Lock won't actually toggle the indicator light for about 5 seconds.)
I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit on a Dell XPS 410 desktop.

Some more information: my (USB) keyboard is connected through my monitor to the computer, so I in fact turning off the monitor has the same effect.
Also, this *might* be the same bug, but not sure:
