A new upstream release of gwyddion (2.13) is available:

Packages in jaunty, (and in hardy-backports and Intrepid-backports) are currently in version 2.12 and they should be upgraded to the new upstream release.

Changelog v.2.13:

Released: 9 February 2009.

Application

    * Translations updated: Czech, French, Russian.

Application

    * Raw graph import (new): Imports simple two-column text files as graphs.
    * Distance, Stats and Rougness tools: Copy to clipboard buttons actually work (in 2.12 Save button did both actions and Copy did not do anything).
    * Nanoscope: Physical y-size is recalculated to conserve the pixel y-size/x-size ratio in all files now. This affects non-square images.
    * Stats tool: Angles are exported in degrees as stated, instead of radians.
    * HDF4 file: PSI files are flipped vertically to follow the convention.
    * All tools: Somewhat inconsistent conversion between pixel and real coordinates were unified.

Other

    * File gwydion-thumbnailer.schemas is no longer distributed with paths from the packager's system, it is created on the build system with the correct paths.

Hi Joseph,

I'm the guy who takes care of gwyddion in Debian. I finished packaging
2.13-1 yesterday evening, it's sitting in Debian-Med's SVN and waiting for a
sponsor. This version is going to feature gwyddion's Python scripting
interface pygwy, finally.

Great, that you spent some time on this yourself! If you had to change
something in the packaging compared to the current version or if you
generally have some remarks/improvements, please do not hesitate to mail me
or open a bug (either Launchpad or Debian BTS - as you like)!
I will probably take a look at your packaging soon - maybe I can learn
something from it. ;-)
