Bug Description

Binary package hint: synaptic

for some reason this "documentation" package requires :
apache2
apache2-mpm-worker
apache2-utils
apache2.2-common
dctrl-tools
dlocate
dwww
info2www
libapr1
libaprutil1
 etc..

these packages are unnecessary I presume.

thanks,

Mert Turkal

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this bug as a bug in libitpp.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

affects: synaptic (Ubuntu) → libitpp (Ubuntu)

I don't think this is for libitpp, since none of the -doc or binaries require any of the packages the reporter listed [1-4]. Mert, what package are you trying to install that requires apache2 et. al.?

[2] http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/libitpp6gf

It is because libitpp-doc recommends dwww which depends on apache and friends.
