Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Distribution is Ubuntu 8.10
Arch is amd64
GNOME is 2.24.1
Evolution is 2.24.3

I was trying to import a mailbox from thunderbird (mbox format).

I accidentally clicked twice on "Import" (last step) and Evolution immediately crashed.

I can reproduce this: Import -> Single file -> Choose an mbox file -> Choose a destination -> Double-click on 'Import'.

Hi Sebastien,

Apport generates a huge amount of data because it includes the coredump. Will the stacktrace be sufficient? I'm attaching it now.

p.s. System is 8.10, arch is amd64.

the stacktrace is ok but using apport means that the bug is automatically retraced using debug versions and added to the crash database for automatic duplication of identic crashes, it makes the job easier for everybody, do you have a slow internet or concern about sending the crash file over internet?

All right, please advise on how to attach the apport-generated report to this bug, so as not to open a new one?

Upstream bug is apparently already reported via bug-buddy so I'm changing the gnome-bug to point to that instead.

there is no option right now to add apport informations to an open bug but that's going to be fixed in jaunty, the usual way is to open a new bug and close the non apport one as duplicate, in this case if there is enough details no need to do that

Comment from upstream:

Created commit af049df in evo master (2.27.6+)

So this should be fixed in Ubuntu 9.10 already. Thanks for reporting.
