Amarok not sending "now playing" updates for streams

When playing a collection of local files, desktop plasmoids will correctly update the "Now playing" info from Amarok2.

However, if you listen to a streaming radio station, the desktop plasmoids will only show the information that was playing for the song that was on when you selected the station.

It seems as if Amarok is not sending some notification that lets these widgets know they need to update their info between songs in the same stream; it only notifies them when it switches tracks in the playlist.

Tested with Kubuntu9.04a4(64-bit), amarok 2:2.0.1.1mysql5.1.30-0ubuntu1, and the "Now Playing" and "PlayWolf" plugins.

Made a test on a OpenSUSE 11.1 box and exhibit the same issue described here, using KDE 4.1.2 instead and libxine phonon backend.

To fill some extra info. The Amarok tray icon, Amarok standard screen notifier (dunno how is called), and Amarok window title displayed the radio station song names correctly, but the plasmoids do not.

Since I reproduced it a non Kubuntu box, looks like it's an upstream issue. Only need to figure out if its Amarok or the plasmoids that need fixing.

amarok2 in backports http://www.kubuntu.org/news/amarok-2.0.1.1 may have to be recomplied against kde422 ?

Yes this works with Amarok Version 2.1.1 Sous KDE 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2)
