Bug Description
I am experiencing very slow file transfers when using Dolphin to connect to a Samba server on my network.
Here is the file I am transferring:
wxr--r-- 1 legodude users 734013440 2009-02-06 13:55 testfile
To establish a baseline speed I used FTP:
FTP:
get:
734013440 bytes transferred in 20 seconds (35.47M/s)
put:
734013440 bytes transferred in 17 seconds (40.23M/s)
To get a baseline for how Samba should be performing I used smbclient:
smbclient:
get:
~20s ~35 MB/s
put:
~52s ~13.5 MB/s
Now using Dolphin. Transferring from the server to the client is not bad, but client->server is ~100x slower than it should be.
DOLPHIN:
get:
~19.3 MB/s
put:
~350 KB/s
I am using Jaunty with all of the latest updates as of the morning of Feb 6, 2009.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions:
* What version of Dolphin are you using?
* Is the problem reproducible? Has it worked fine on earlier versions of Ubuntu?
This will help us to find and resolve the problem.
Thanks
