lightning does nor show the days

Binary package hint: thunderbird

I used to work with Thunderbird and lightning without a problem. I just recently had a fresh hardy ubuntu install on my machine but added lightning but lighning does not show the days in calendar. i cannot add anything to my calendar either. what could be wrong

You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected,
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible),
4. the exact versions of Thunderbird and Lightning you are using

for #4 above please paste the output of
apt-cache policy thunderbird lightning
That will post both versions this way it saves you from typing command in
