Bug Description

I am having an issue with krdc 4:4.1.3-0ubuntu1~intrepid2 because it does not include a "show local cursor" button. This is a feature which was available in krdc 3.5. Without this feature it takes 4x-5x longer to do any actions since the user must wait for the remote cursor to render before clicking.

I am requesting that KDE bring back this feature into krdc 4.

What changes were performed to this package by ubuntu developers? KDE developers believe that we modified the source to remove the "show local cursor button". Is this a correct assumption?

I think you (or your dist) changed KRDC toolbar settings. The action should be
right to the "view only" button. You can also find this action in the "Session"
menu.

Please report any success.

I am currently testing krdc krdc 4:4.2.1-0ubuntu1 which also does not include the "show local cursor" button by default. I have found out how to make it show up:

1) I had to right click on the tool bar and select "Configure toolbar" and set the following setting:

2) I had to select "Remote View Toolbar"

3) I had to add "show local cursor" to the viewable items.

Problem solved.

The instructions above add the "Show local cursor" to the "Remote View Toolbar" in krdc 4:4.2.1-0ubuntu1 on ubuntu 9.04.

I've tried the instructions above on Ubuntu 8.10 using krdc 4:4.1.2-0ubuntu4, and even though I added "Show local cursor" to the "Remote View Toolbar" it does not show up in the Remote View Toolbar.

Sorry, I meant krdc 4.1.4-0ubuntu1~intrepid1 on Ubuntu 8.10.

The following version may fix this:
krdc 4:4.2.0-0ubuntu1~intrepid1 (intrepid-backports)
